- Remove the battery cover & install 4 AA batteries
- Download & Configure the software, view this video for more information: U-Tec Smart Lock Software.
- You’re now ready to go.
- Using the code you’ve created, type it into the “Add Delivery Instructions” on the Amazon cart checkout found under the Shipping Address – Add Delivery Instructions – Security Code.
- For support with the lock: Mon-Fri 6am to 7pm PST call 1-844-HEY-UTEC
- Support can also be found at U-Tec Support.
- You can also go directly to the U-Tec Support Ticketing System.
- NOTE: Support will require the Serial Number found inside the battery cover

No, Secure Home Deliveries does not perform installations, we distribute and ship the Package Portal from our warehouse in “bare metal” only. In Phoenix, Arizona we are partnered with JCGarageDoorSolution to provide professional and competitively priced painting and installation that you can trust.

Yes! While we recommend using a professional, most Package Portal installations are relatively simple and straightforward as long as you have the proper knowledge, tools, and experience. A door kit will come with some of the materials you need to install it, and in most scenarios it can be installed in less than an hour. However, there are many different types of garage doors, so be sure to check out the “Will This Work for My Garage Door” section below.
We recommend installing the Package Portal no more than 3 feet off the ground where possible.
Our Package Portal has been carefully designed and will accommodate most “Short Panel” garage doors. If your garage door looks like the following picture, it will likely fit. However, if you are uncertain what type of garage door you have or if you have a different type of garage door, please contact us and we will work with you to find a suitable option. To ensure a quick and accurate response, please also send us a picture of your garage door of both the inside and outside.

If you need assistance with any lock-related issues, please reach out to U-Tec directly: MON-FRI 6AM TO 7PM PST at 1-844-HEY-UTEC or submit a Support Ticket. Be sure to reference your warranty number when contacting U-Tec support, which will be provided to you via email upon purchasing the Package Portal.
